Here, she specialized in soldier readiness, combat medical readiness, and prolonged field care, even conducting her first telemedicine consultation in Uganda. This innovative approach to healthcare marked the beginning of her journey into virtual medicine. By 2016, she was stationed at Fort Campbell, where, as a full-time med peds hospitalist she excelled as Chief of Inpatient Services and became a leader in hospital administration, quality improvement, and process development.

From 2019 to 2021, Dr. Purdy served as the Warrior Transition Battalion Surgeon at Fort Campbell, overseeing the medical transition of soldiers leaving active duty. Managing a multidisciplinary team of over 35 civilians, she balanced hands-on patient care with high-level administrative responsibilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. These experiences further sharpened her leadership skills and prepared her for her transition into civilian medicine.
